This Minecraft spiral generator lays out a flat spiral block by block. Set the size, the number of turns, how thick the arm is and whether the centre stays open, then build from the plan or download a PNG or a Litematica file. Made for floor mosaics, plaza centres, ceilings and wall art.
How to build a spiral in Minecraft
The spiral here is an Archimedean spiral: every turn is the same distance from the last one. That keeps the gaps between the arms even, which is what makes it look clean in blocks. A freehand spiral usually bunches up in the middle and spreads out at the edge.
Pick a size first, because the other settings depend on it. Then set the turns, and make the arm thicker if the spiral will be seen from far away. The Stats panel shows the total at once, so you can gather the blocks before you start.
Build from the centre out. Put a marker block where the orange lines cross and follow the arm around. Click the blocks on the plan as you place them to keep track.

Loose suits big open floors. Standard is the all-rounder. Tight gives a hypnotic pattern for walls and ceilings. Ring leaves the middle free for a well or a fountain.
Where to put a spiral
- Plaza centres in stone and polished stone, with a tree or a statue in the open middle.
- Hall floors in two colours of concrete or terracotta.
- Ceilings in glowstone or sea lanterns, which light the room as well.
- Garden paths with path blocks for the arm and grass between.

Common mistakes
- Too many turns for the size. The gaps drop to one block and the arm blurs into a disc. Add turns only when you add size.
- The same block for arm and floor. Pick colours with strong contrast, or the pattern disappears from a distance.
- Starting at the outer end. Small errors add up as you go inward. Start in the middle and work out.
- Forgetting the direction. Seen from below, a ceiling spiral turns the other way. Flip the plan in your head, or build it on the floor first.

How do I build a spiral in Minecraft?
Mark the centre, build the arm from the middle outward and follow the plan one row at a time. The orange lines cross at the centre block, which is where the arm starts when there is no hole.
What is the difference between this and a spiral staircase?
This spiral is flat: a pattern on one level, like a mosaic. A spiral staircase climbs, one step per level. Use the spiral staircase generator for that.
How many turns should my spiral have?
Three to four turns look best at 31 blocks. More turns need a bigger spiral, or the gaps between the arms shrink to one block and the pattern blurs.
What size should my spiral be?
A 31-block spiral with the standard preset takes 404 blocks and fills a small plaza. Go to 51 blocks or more for a town square.
What does the centre-hole setting do?
It leaves the middle empty, as a share of the radius. At 40% the spiral becomes a ring around an open centre, ready for a well, a fountain or a beacon.
How do I use the .litematic download?
Install Litematica, put the file in .minecraft/schematics, press M in game and load it. The spiral lies flat, so place it on the floor where you want the pattern.
