Minecraft Sphere Chart
A hollow Minecraft sphere 21 blocks across takes 1,082 blocks and a solid one takes 4,945; the biggest on this chart, 64 blocks across, takes 10,464 hollow or 137,376 solid. This Minecraft sphere chart lists every diameter from 5 to 64 with its layers, hollow and solid block counts, stacks of 64 and the hollow dome. Click a size to open it in the sphere generator or the dome generator.

How to read the Minecraft sphere chart
This Minecraft sphere chart is a lookup table. Each row of the table is one sphere diameter. Layers is how many horizontal layers the ball has: a sphere is as tall as it is wide. Hollow sphere is the block count of the one-block-thick shell, which is what most builds need, and Solid sphere is every block inside the ball. The stacks columns divide each total into stacks of 64 blocks with the remainder, so you can see how many stacks to collect before you start.
The last two columns are for the dome, the top half of the sphere. A dome of the same width has about half the layers and a little more than half the blocks, because the layer with the widest ring is counted once. Click a diameter to open the hollow sphere in the generator, or click the solid count or the dome to jump to that version.
Drawings of the spheres
Above the table, each drawing is the sphere cut open through the middle: the row of blocks along the middle of every layer, top layer first. The wall of a hollow sphere is one block thick, so the drawing shows the same block outline you see when you dig through the middle of a build. The number under each drawing is the diameter and the hollow block count.

Choosing a size from the Minecraft sphere chart
Small spheres from 5 to 9 blocks make orbs, streetlamps and lanterns. Sizes 11 to 21 suit rooms, fountains and tower tops. Sizes 31 to 45 make observatories, planets and glass domes for a base. Above 50 the block counts climb fast: a 64-block hollow sphere takes 10,464 blocks, and a solid one takes 137,376, which is 2,146 stacks of 64.
Odd or even sphere diameter
An odd diameter has a single block in the exact middle. That matters for a beacon, a spawner or a light in the centre of a room. An even diameter has a 2 × 2 × 2 middle. Neither is better; the Minecraft sphere chart counts both kinds.
Hollow, solid and stacks
Hollow spheres on this Minecraft sphere chart are one block thick. If you need a thicker wall, open the sphere generator and choose the shell thickness, which is drawn with the same engine and adds a second or third skin on the inside. To hollow a solid sphere you have already built, subtract the hollow count from the solid count on this chart: a 32-block sphere has 17,256 solid blocks and 2,568 in its shell.
Frequently asked questions
How many blocks are in a Minecraft sphere?
According to the Minecraft sphere chart, a hollow sphere 16 blocks across takes 632 blocks and a solid one takes 2,176. A sphere 32 blocks across takes 2,568 hollow or 17,256 solid. The table on this page lists every diameter from 5 to 64.
How do I use the Minecraft sphere chart?
Find the diameter in the first column and read the hollow or solid block count. Click the diameter to open that sphere in the generator, where you can build it layer by layer or download it for Litematica.
What does a Minecraft dome chart look like?
The last two columns of this Minecraft sphere chart give the dome: the number of layers of the top half of the sphere and the blocks in its hollow shell. A 21-block dome has 11 layers and takes 569 blocks.
How many stacks of blocks do I need for a sphere?
Divide the total by 64. A hollow sphere 32 blocks across takes 2,568 blocks, which is 40 stacks and 8 extra blocks. The stack columns do that for you.
Why is a sphere not just a circle stacked up?
Every layer of a sphere is a different circle, from a single block at the top to the widest ring in the middle and back. Stacking the same circle gives a cylinder; use the cylinder generator for that.
Is there a sphere size chart for even diameters?
Yes. Both odd and even diameters are in the table. Even spheres have a 2 × 2 × 2 middle and no single centre block.
