How to build a heart in Minecraft

A heart looks simple, but it is easy to get wrong in blocks. The shoulders need a smooth curve, the notch at the top has to sit exactly in the middle, and the point at the bottom must be a single block or the heart looks blunt.

The generator uses odd widths only, so there is always a middle column for the point and the notch. Every heart it draws is mirror-symmetric: the left half of each row matches the right half.

Build it standing up, from the bottom point upward. Put the point on the ground or on a marker block, then add each row above it. The Litematica file does the same: it stands the heart up as a wall one block thick. If you want it flat on the floor, build it from the plan instead.

When to build a heart

Block choice

Red concrete gives the strongest colour and flat texture. Red wool is softer and cheap if you farm sheep. Pink and magenta suit a gentler look. For a heart that glows, use redstone lamps, or put red stained glass in front of glowstone.

For an outline, pick a block that stands out from what is behind it: dark wood against a light wall, or quartz against stone. The block menu next to the download button sets the block in the Litematica file; the plan shows the same shape whatever you pick.
