PandaHow these small perler bead patterns were picked
A pattern is on this page when its grid fits inside 29 × 29 beads, the size of a standard square pegboard, so it never needs a second board. The size comes from the pattern itself, not from a label, so a pattern that grows in a later version leaves the page on its own. The cards are sorted from the fewest beads to the most.
Mini perler bead patterns and small perler bead ideas
If you are looking for mini perler bead patterns, start with the first cards: the smallest three are heart (108 beads, 4 colours), bat (146 beads, 4 colours), lollipop (148 beads, 3 colours). The colour counts across the page range from 3 to 8, so the cards near the top also make good small perler bead ideas for keyrings, magnets and fridge decorations. Every card links to the template tool, where you can change colours before you print.
Laying out a small pattern on one pegboard
Put the pegboard on a tray, pour each colour from the key into its own cup and lay the outline first, then fill in. The smallest pattern is 13 beads wide, which leaves 16 empty rows of pegs on a 29-peg board, so you can centre it or keep the rest of the board for a second design. When the last bead is down, cover it with baking paper, iron it until the beads fuse, flip it and iron the back.
Small or easy?
Small means the grid is small. It does not mean few colours: the busiest small pattern here uses 8 colours. If you want less sorting rather than less space, use the easy perler bead patterns, which cap the colours at 5 and the beads at 400.
