Fuse Bead Circle Pattern
A fuse bead circle pattern 15 beads across takes 177 beads filled, or 40 as an outline, and it measures about 7.5 cm before ironing. This fuse bead circle pattern maker draws a round bead pattern for any diameter from 5 to 58 beads, with the beads in every row, the total and the number of pegboards, ready to print.

Size before ironing is about 5 mm a bead. A standard pegboard is 29 × 29 beads and a large board 58 × 58; a bigger circle is laid out on several boards. Colours are a guide: real beads vary by brand and batch.

How the fuse bead circle pattern maker works
A round bead pattern is a circle drawn on a square grid of pegs. Each peg takes one bead, so the diameter you choose is the number of beads across the widest row. This circle pattern maker uses the same circle engine as the Minecraft circle generator: it picks the beads whose centres fall inside the circle, so the outline is as round as a square grid allows, with no lopsided corners.
Choose the diameter, from 5 beads for a tiny charm to 58 beads for a large board. Then choose the style. Filled is a solid disc of beads, the usual choice for coasters, badges and ornaments. Outline is a ring one bead wide, which is a light frame for a wreath or a hoop, and Thick outline is a ring of two beads.
Every row of the pattern is counted. A 15-bead filled circle has 15 rows, and from top to bottom they hold 5, 9, 11, 13, 13, 15, 15, 15, 15, 15, 13, 13, 11, 9, 5 beads. The table shows the totals for common sizes; click a diameter to open it in the pattern maker.
| Diameter | Filled circle | Outline | Boards 29 × 29 | Large 58 × 58 | Size before ironing |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 5 | 21 | 12 | 1 | 1 | 2.5 × 2.5 cm (1 × 1 in) |
| 7 | 37 | 16 | 1 | 1 | 3.5 × 3.5 cm (1.4 × 1.4 in) |
| 9 | 69 | 24 | 1 | 1 | 4.5 × 4.5 cm (1.8 × 1.8 in) |

Pegboards and finished size
A standard square pegboard is 29 pegs wide, and a large board is 58. A circle up to 29 beads across fits on one standard board. The 29-bead filled circle takes 665 beads and measures about 14.5 cm across before ironing, since a bead is 5 mm. A circle of 30 beads or more does not fit one board, and would need 4 standard boards laid side by side, which is why the pattern maker gives you both the number of standard boards and the number of large boards. The 58-bead circle needs 4 standard boards or 1 large one.
The size is a guide, not a promise. Beads shrink a little when you iron them and the pegs of one brand are not always spaced like another's. The pattern is made for the common 5 mm midi beads and is compatible with Perler, Hama and other beads that sit on the same grid.
How to make a round bead pattern, step by step
- Choose the size. A 9-bead circle is a keyring, 13 to 17 an ornament or coaster, and 29 fills a standard board.
- Pick filled or outline. An outline uses far fewer beads: 80 against 665 for the full 29-bead circle.
- Sort your beads by colour and count out the total from the stats.
- Work row by row from the top. The number at the left of each row tells you how many beads to place, and the plan shows where they start.
- Mark rows as you go. Click a bead to mark it placed, so you can put the pattern down and pick it up again.
- Iron it between two sheets of baking paper, then let it cool flat.
Frequently asked questions
How do I make a circle pattern with fuse beads?
Choose a diameter in the bead circle pattern maker, pick filled or outline, and follow the beads in each row from the top. The number beside every row tells you how many beads to place. Print the pattern or save it as a PNG.
How many beads are in a bead circle?
A filled circle 15 beads across takes 177 beads and an outline takes 40. A 29-bead circle takes 665 filled and 80 as an outline. The table lists every common size.
What is the biggest bead circle on one pegboard?
A standard square pegboard is 29 beads wide, so a circle up to 29 beads across fits on one. A circle of 30 beads needs 4 standard boards, and up to 58 beads fits a single large board.
How big is a fuse bead circle when it is done?
A bead is about 5 mm wide, so a 15-bead circle is 7.5 cm before ironing and a 29-bead circle is 14.5 cm. Ironing shrinks it slightly.
What is the difference between filled and outline?
Filled is a solid disc of beads. Outline is a ring one bead wide, and thick outline is a ring two beads wide. An outline uses far fewer beads, like 40 against 177 for 15 beads across.
Does it work with Perler and Hama beads?
The pattern uses the common 5 mm midi grid, so it is compatible with Perler, Hama and other beads that sit on the same pegboards. Colours are not part of this pattern: pick your own.
